Frequently asked questions and answers about using NCAT Online Services.

Lodging online applications

Requirement to register

All users must register to use NCAT Online Services. User guides and resources are available on the NCAT website.

Email submissions

Email submissions will not be accepted by NCAT.

If you are unable to apply online, download an application form and submit it by post, or in person at an NCAT Registry or Service NSW centre.

For urgent applications, call 1300 006 228.

Secondary applications, evidence and submissions must be lodged by post or in person at an NCAT Registry.

Access issues

If you are having trouble accessing NCAT online services, email onlineregistry-support@justice.nsw.gov.au

  • Include a description of the error, along with your login ID
  • Screenshots of any errors.

Lodging issues

Below is a list of errors that can occur when lodging online.

Attachment limits

A maximum of 5 attachments can be accompanied with your application. Each attachment must not exceed 5 MB.

File name limits

File names must not exceed 100 characters.

Case linking

You must be a party to the case and have the case number and a document barcode. The document barcode appears on the correspondence issued by NCAT.

Legal practitioner case linking

Legal practitioners who are having issues linking to a case can contact the NCAT Registry for assistance. Please have your PCN and online registry User ID handy. 

Online payments

Request for fee waiver

Fee waiver requests cannot be submitted through NCAT Online Services. Download the Request for fee waiver form (PDF, 107.0 KB) and lodge by post, in person at a NCAT Registry or Service NSW centre.
